Hobart’s New Advansys Ventless Warewasher with Energy Recovery Can Save More Than $5,000
Hobart’s patent-pending ENERGY STAR® qualified Advansys ventless door-type warewasher not only cleans and sanitizes dishware and heavily soiled pots and pans, but it also can save more than $5,000 in energy recovery, reduced HVAC use and the elimination of a vent hood and fan installation. The Foodservice Consultants Society International (FCSI) named the ventless door-type one of the “10 most innovative products for 2010.” The Advansys ventless door-type warewasher is also a recipient of the National Restaurant Associations’ prestigious 2010 Kitchen Innovations™ (KI) award, which recognizes the most groundbreaking equipment on the global foodservice market as selected by an independent panel of experts.
Using only .74 gallons of water per rack, the new ventless door-type is the first ventless door-type warewasher featuring energy recovery. This technology captures water vapor, or steam, from the wash cycle and condenses it to heat the incoming cold-water inlet.
Operators can save up to $792 per year in energy recovery (based on 200 cycles/day, 360 days per year at an energy cost of .011 dollars per cycle). Additionally, the elimination of steam emissions into the kitchen reduces HVAC use, saving up to $776 per year in utility costs. The unit also eliminates the need for a vent hood and fan installation, saving approximately $3,500 on equipment and installation costs. Previously, high-temperature door-type warewashers required a vent for the steam or water vapor emitted when the door is opened.
