Prepack Tab Image 1

The Hobart Prepack Scale features a large 10.4" diagonal, color LCD screen that makes fonts easier to read for faster operation. Make selections on the screen with the touch of a finger or a stylus. Flash keys or speed keys, with programmable background colors, let the operator categorize the most common PLUs. You can also adjust the screen's viewing angle for comfort. If the operator should need assistance or advice on how to perform a task, the most frequently asked questions and answers are there at the touch of the screen.

Easy to navigate. The intuitive interface and drop-down menus make using the Access simple and direct. You can program the Go-To keys to go directly to a location, bypassing the menus for even greater efficiency. The user can also define the display of auxiliary fields in operate mode.

Search by PLU or partial description. Users can search the database by PLU or, if they don't know the PLU, by partial description—the first four letters will do. They can also search by approximate PLU number.

Prepack Tab Image 2Failure to communicate is not an option. The Hobart Prepack Scale is a multi-communications tool. Using either a wired or wireless Ethernet connection, you can access the Internet or a customized store Web site. You can transmit and check weekly or daily information, employee schedules, new product information and more.

Every operator or supervisor screen is a Web page that can be accessed remotely via Internet Explorer. Diagnostic information can also be retrieved. Scale configuration and the PLU database can be verified or modified. Supervisors can monitor the real-time use of the scale.

Easy to upgrade and backup. Hobart firmware can be easily upgraded via the network or a USB Flash drive. The database and configuration can also be backed up to a USB Flash drive.

Merchandising: The power of the prepack printhead. The power of print on labels has been greatly enhanced with the Hobart prepack printer because it generates more dots per inch—203 dpi vs. 144 dpi (8 dots per mm vs. 6 dots per mm). The higher resolution allows for smaller bar codes. That leaves more room for your merchandising messages: frequent buyer, cross-selling, sale savings, etc. The high-resolution printing also means more powerful graphics. Using standard file formats—PNG for label graphics, JPEG and GIF for screen graphics, and TTF font formats—you can make your labels powerful merchandising vehicles.

Publish. Don't perish. With the Hobart Prepack Scale, you can manage product life and shelf life by days and even hours, cutting down on your perishables' shrink.

At your service. The Hobart Prepack Scale is designed for optimum performance and that means maximum uptime. You can retrieve diagnostics information at any time, verify or modify the scale's configuration and the PLU database. The system firmware can be quickly and easily upgraded via a USB Flash drive or the network. System statistics—including real-time updates of free memory in Flash, RAM and RamDisk EVM—are available at the touch of a screen or key (you can plug in a keyboard in the scale's USB port). The system will even send out e-mails when it's out of labels. The printer will notify you when the cassette/printhead is disengaged for a given period of time.
