Hobart Adds Medium Duty EDGE 13 to EDGE Series Slicer Line

TROY, Ohio (February 9, 2017) - Hobart, the premium commercial food equipment manufacturer known for designing and building some of the most reliable, must-have equipment, is expanding its line of medium-duty slicers with the introduction of the Hobart EDGE 13 slicer.

Providing even greater choice and versatility for restaurants and smaller food operations, Hobart has created a large, 13-inch, medium-duty slicer that offers the exceptional performance and outstanding quality that food service professionals expect from Hobart.

Incorporating many of the features that have made Hobart heavy duty slicers an industry benchmark, the EDGE 13 slicer is built for operations requiring less than four hours of slicing per day. A 1/2-H.P. knife drive-motor provides enough power to help ensure both cheese and meat slicing without shredding. This is paired with a poly V-belt system that delivers quiet operation, all while making it more economical to service and repair due to its limited number of parts.

Additional features of the EDGE 13 slicer include:

• a full 45-degree angle gravity feed product table for less mechanical pressure;
• one-piece anodized aluminum base for easier cleaning and improved sanitation and labor savings;
• no-volt interlock release in the event of power failure;
• removable carriage system for complete cleaning and sanitation;
• removable ceramic knife-sharpener;
• permanently mounted ring guard that protects the knife during operation and cleaning; and,
• rear-mounted meat grip with contoured handle that secures oversized loaves and is removable for easy cleaning.
