Traulsen and Hobart Announce First Winner of Save Your Kitchen 2023

FORT WORTH, Texas (April 18, 2023) – ITW Food Equipment Group is proud to announce the first winner of the Save Your Kitchen 2023 campaign sweepstakes held in honor of National School Breakfast Week. Homedale School District in Homedale, Idaho, won by random selection in the first of four drawings for 2023.  

This ninth iteration of the popular K-12 kitchen equipment makeover initiative kicked off this February. Save Your Kitchen provides free Traulsen and Hobart kitchen equipment to four winning sweepstake entrants each year.  The Homedale School District is the first recipient of the new kitchen equipment prize package.

The Homedale School District is a comprehensive community public school district serving students in kindergarten through twelfth grade from Homedale, Idaho along the state’s southwestern region. The district is made up of three schools with an enrollment of 1,220 students. 

Homedale School District selected a One-Section Traulsen Reach-In Refrigerator which features more than 24 cubic feet of storage and advanced technology like Traulsen’s StayClear™ Condenser coil and Smart Control. Both products will be used at Homedale High School. 

“This new equipment for our high school will have a significant impact on the quality of food and the overall efficiency of the kitchen,” said Teresa Bettleyon, Child Nutrition Director at Homedale School District. “It will allow for the preparation of a wider range of meals and promote food safety. This can also lead to increased participation in our meal program and improve student health and well-being.”

“We are excited to have won new equipment for our school, it will help us be more efficient in our large-scale food preparation efforts,” said Shirley Martinat, Food Service Clerk at Homedale School District. “Having updated equipment helps our staff work more efficiently and that has a helpful impact on our school nutrition program.”

The sweepstakes is open to K-12 nutrition professionals in the 50 states and Washington, D.C. Among the products offered in this year’s sweepstakes are Traulsen refrigerators, a freezer or a milk cooler plus a Centerline™ by Hobart slicer or mixer, or a Hobart food processor for all four sweepstakes, and a Hobart AM16 base dish machine for the July sweepstakes only. Different products may be available for specific sweepstakes.
