Traulsen and Hobart Announce the Fourth Winner of Save Your Kitchen 2023

FORT WORTH, Texas (November 17, 2023) – ITW Food Equipment Group is proud to announce the fourth and final winner of the Save Your Kitchen 2023 campaign sweepstakes held in honor of National School Breakfast Week. Plummer-Worley Joint School District in Plummer, Idaho, won by random selection in the fourth and final drawing of 2023.  

This eighth iteration of the popular K-12 kitchen equipment makeover initiative kicked off with the first drawing in March 2023 and closed with the fourth and final drawing October 13 in honor of National School Lunch Week. The Save Your Kitchen contest provides free Traulsen and Hobart kitchen equipment to four winning sweepstake entrants each year.  

The Plummer-Worley School District is a comprehensive community public school district serving students in kindergarten through twelfth grade from Plummer, Idaho along the state’s northwestern region. The district is made up of three schools with an enrollment of nearly 400 students. 

Plummer-Worley selected a One-Section Traulsen Reach-In Freezer featuring more than 24 cubic feet of storage and advanced technology such as Traulsen’s StayClear™ Condenser coil and Smart Control. As a part of the Traulsen Spec Line offering, this unit provides top industry performance, durability, and ease of use. The Reach-In Freezer will be used at Lakeside Elementary School.

Their Hobart prize selection is the Centerline™ Standard Heavy-Duty 20-Quart Mixer (HMM20). This product features an all-gear transmission, digital timer, and sleek contemporary look designed for kitchens needing a reliable and better-performing machine. The Heavy-Duty 20-Quart Mixer will be used at the joint Lakeside Middle & High School.

“Winning the fourth Save Your Kitchen campaign was such a welcome surprise and is a true blessing for our students, the new equipment for the Plummer/Worley School District will help in so many ways,” said Michelle Renfrew, Food Service Director for Plummer-Worley School District.

Renfrew continued, “The reach-in freezer will be placed in the elementary kitchen, and since the arrival of COVID, the district has had a shortage of places to temporarily store frozen products. The reach-in freezer will accomplish the prepped items for the week and provide easy-to-access products for the kitchen staff, freeing up time to concentrate on their scratch cooking. The Hobart mixer will be used in our [joint Middle & High School] kitchen, and we have never had a mixer of this quality with the ability to handle such large quantities.”

The sweepstakes is open to K-12 nutrition professionals in the 50 states and Washington, D.C. Among the products offered in this year’s sweepstakes are Traulsen refrigerators, a freezer or a milk cooler plus a Centerline™ by Hobart slicer or mixer, or a Hobart food processor for all four sweepstakes, and a Hobart AM16 base dish machine for the July sweepstakes only. Different products may be available for specific sweepstakes.
